"Allin hamusqa kapay -- Allpaka Peru"

Allpaka Peru is your eco-friendly and socially responsible source for the finest Peruvian alpaca wools and fibers. This cashmere-like fleece, once reserved for Incan royalty, can now be enjoyed by spinners and weavers around the world. Allpaka Peru was founded in 2011 by husband and wife team, Alex Pimentel and Julianna Cook. (and with a little help from their two boys, Sylas and Alonso)

Our idea is to bring alpaca to the forefront of fashion and design. Alpacas produce one of the worlds finest and most luxurious natural fibers. It comes in more colors than any other fiber producing animal (approximately 22 basic colors with many variations and blends.) Alpaca is much lighter, stronger, and warmer than sheeps wool and its not prickly - instead alpaca fleece is lustrous and silky. Another benefit alpaca holds over wool is that it does not bear lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic.

Alpacas do not need to be slaughtered to reap their product. Their fiber is a renewable resource that naturally grows yearly and then is clipped from the animal without causing injury.

We share close ties with our suppliers and remain committed to a rich Incan heritage, where for centuries man and alpaca have cohabitated in harmony, both challenged by harsh nature.
